Calgary has all the advantages of a large city, yet with a population of just over a million, Calgary is clean, safe, and pollution-free. Calgarians are proud of their reputation for hospitality, their mixture of small town friendliness and cosmopolitan sensibilities.
The restaurants, theatres, cafés and shops reflect Calgary's place in the international arena. The 1988 Winter Olympics showcased Calgary's world class recreational facilities such as ice rinks, ski jumps, fitness centers, and Olympic sized pools. And the Rocky Mountains, just an hour away, are Calgary's playground.
The international students who study in Calgary are a small and friendly group who get together at whatever place is popular for the moment to meet Canadians and students from other countries. |
