Hi, there. I’m Evandra, and I come from Brazil. I really had a great time studying at Focus International in Calgary, Canada. Calgary is a beautiful city. It is organized and clean, and it has lots of bars, cafes, and international restaurants.

Focus is a pretty small school and it is easy to get to know people and make close relationships. The people at the school worry about you. They try to make you comfortable. And they organize lots of events where you can travel and enjoy areas outside of the school and the city. You will make friends and have a good time.

For me, coming from Brazil, it was the first time that I saw snow and participated in some winter sports that are common in Canada. I had a wonderful time. My English improved and I enjoyed the classes (I had blocks A, B, C, and D). I now have friends from many different countries. And to my surprise, Canadians were really polite and friendly too.

I miss so much the months that I spent in Canada and at Focus. It was one of the greatest experiences of my life and I am so grateful that I had it.

I spent a great time in Calgary studying English. This city is very nice, safe, wonderful and all people are really friendly.

There are so many opportunities for activities in Calgary and in its surroundings. I went to the Rockies Mountains for hiking with a friend that I met in Focus and I have seen some very awesome places like Banff, Columbia Icefield, and Lake Louise.

Focus is a perfect school where there is a very pleasant atmosphere with students from all over the word. The size of the shcool is not too big, so we can easily speak during the course. The teacher are very close to the students and we can speak with them outside the school too and to have activities with them. Now, I have friends from all over the word and we are still in touch. The life with a host family is nice too. I could discover the Canadian life and I could share activities with them. They were like my parents and we have stayed in touch since I left Calgary. Canadian hospitality is not a myth, it really is fantastic.

I miss Calgary and I really hope go back there very soon.

The time I spent in Calgary was such a precious moment!

Calgary is a nice city to visit, but the best thing I did during my stay was going to school. I really loved the classes. Every teacher had sense of humor and they always tried to make classes fun, which made me relaxed and that's why I could have so many friends there.

It is often said that Japanese are shy and tend to be quiet in class, but actually it turned out to be wrong at Focus. I never saw people like that; moreover, it seemed everyone (not only Japanese!) was enjoying everyday very much.

Since I only stayed a month, I couldn’t do so many activities, but the memories and friends I got there are one of my treasures now.

Hello! My name is Kyung-Hyun Kwon and I'm from Korea. I have been studying English at Focus for 2 months.

Focus is my first school in Canada and it has helped me to adjust to my new environment in Canada. Students can meet not only foreign students, but also friendly teachers at Focus. Focus is a small school and there are many interesting activities, so it is easy to make friends. I will not forget the memories at Focus when I go back to Korea. In a word, Focus is awesome!

Being in Canada has been a marvelous experience. Calgary is a beautiful city. There is a lot to do, but it's is small enough that you won’t get lost.

My school, Focus, was incredible. They organized activities every week, the teachers are very cool and the classes are dynamic – a thousand thanks to all of you, thanks for all you taught me! The teaching style here is really fun!

The other thing I can’t forget to mention are the friendships. It’s something wonderful to be able to live with other cultures and have friends from all over the world.

The climate is nice, it’s just a matter of dressing up warmly and enjoying the falling snow by skiing or ice skating. It’s incredible! I had incredible experiences that I’ll never forget! THANKS, FOCUS!

I’ve been studying in Focus for almost two months. I will never forget this wonderful time. Before I went to Canada I was always thinking that people here are not very friendly and kind, but now I have changed my opinion. I met a lot of understanding, tenderhearted, thoughtful people. I’ve made a lot of friends from other countries; we always had fun together. We don’t have in Russia so “crazy” teachers like I’ve met here at Focus. I am really appreciative of my teachers because they showed me that it’s possible to speak English and even joke in this language. Most of all I had fun in my morning class. The teacher was able to create lessons in a game and I like it very much.

Focus International became my “second family” and I want to say thanks to everyone who created this amazing small school for the students, and for everybody who was able to combine a lot of people from different cultures, histories and religions.

I love you Focus.

I had the great pleasure of staying in Calgary for three and a half months. It was the best time in my whole life. I didn't only study English, but also enjoyed the Canadian hospitality and culture. My host family, who became part of my soul, cared for me as they would for their own son. I actually found a second family in Calgary. Unfortunately, the distance between us is too large for a quick visit over a weekend, but the next trip is already planned. Kisses to my family....

In school I found friends form all over the world. Time moved quickly and there wasn't a day without happiness and smiling, either during the school activities or during the various trips organized by the students. Names like Kelowna, Jasper, and Waterton bring a big smile to my face. It makes my very happy to remember all these moments.

The size of the school is just great - not too big and very personal. The teachers always found a pleasant way to teach us, which sometimes, I think, was not too easy. Calgary is perfect for studying English. I love the dialect and the slang of the "cowtown" Calgary.

I miss "my family" there as well as my friends from all over the world. I hope to see you again some time, if not in Canada or in Switzerland, then in another part of the world.

It was a great time...thanks to all of you.
