The program at Focus International is designed to get you speaking. Reading and writing skills are covered but are not considered to be the focus of the program. Each week a new theme is presented. All levels work on the same theme but at their respective abilities. Classes often get together for activities and field trips.
How many students are there in each class?
Small classes - expect the best!
The average class is 10 students with a maximum of 14 per class. The low student to teacher ratio allows us to give you individual attention. You will have every opportunity to speak in class and the supportive atmosphere that is our trademark encourages class participation. Our teachers know their students.
Courses - Tailored to your Needs
Our courses are structured to accommodate all levels of experience. Classes are modular, so students may start every Monday.
(Here are some examples of the themes you may study while you are at Focus).

Levels for Everyone!
At Focus we accept the most elementary students of English to the most advanced. On the first day of class you will be given a placement exam and then assigned to a class according to your level.
Certificates
At the end of your program you will receive a representative course certificate and report card which serves as an official record showing your participation and skill level. Congratulations!
Attendance
You must attend at least 80% of your course to be promoted to the next level and receive a certificate.
Level Test
In order to be promoted to the next level, you must improve your score on the monthly level test which is given at the end of each month.
Private Courses
One-to-one instruction with an English tutor. This course is ideal for students who have very specific language requirements (for example, if you would like to write TOEFL, TOEIC, or learn English for your particular career). Your tutor will develop a program to help you achieve your goals in a short period of time.
Lessons
Each lesson is 55 minutes.
English Only
We have a strict "English Only" policy at Focus. The first time you are caught speaking your native language, you will be given a warning.
The second time, you will be asked to leave the school immediately and suspended for the day. Each week is a new start. We want you to speak as much English as possible while you are here.
